A. Key Responsibilities
MARKETING MANAGER
1. Developing the marketing strategy for the company in line with company objectives.
1.1 Prepare and implement an innovation strategy which should culminate in the attainment of business profit, customer growth and cost containment objectives.
1.2 Analyses and Projects marketing requirements to build the annual business plan in line with the long term strategy.
1.3 Define and guide implementation of the strategy based on analysis, trends and market information
1.4 Oversees preparation of competition report on market trends and insights
2. Branding Strategy oversight
2.1 Oversee, develop and implement Brand strategy in line with corporate objectives and strategy
2.2 Position respective brands in line with corporate objectives and sustain brand preference and public image in line with corporate objectives
2.3 Monitor and advice on action based on site performance and guidance on technical infrastructure
3. Communications and public relations oversight
3.1 Develops effective communication strategy (including the determination of media channels to be used) and communications plan (external).

4. Overseeing the company’s marketing budget and roadmap
4.1 Monitors competitor activities in the market place and provide feedback to the business on an on-going basis.
4.2 Analyses the market intelligence and decides on appropriate action in order to maintain and grow the market share.
4.3 Determines and advises on appropriate agencies or media house and channels to use for the communication.
4.4 Requests for sponsorships on projects/events, reviews the same and recommends for sponsorship to the CMO.
4.5 Oversees the product development officer on the development of marketing roadmap and implementation of initiatives to achieve listings, product availability and visibility targets.
4.6 Determines market research needs and methodology, and chooses the right research and agency/research house to partner with in order to gather consumer insights and address knowledge gaps.
5. Co-coordinating marketing campaigns with sales activities.
5.1 Builds a marketing plan in order to deliver the required brand awareness that leads to increase in revenue generation.
5.2 Develops and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of marketing processes and systems.
5.3 Oversees the development of marketing pipeline, proactively manages and tracks the team’s performance.
5.4 Provides recommendations based on understanding of competitor offerings as well as global best practice and technological advancements to ensure EcoCash and future mobile money products are competitive in a view to enhance revenue.
5.5 Evaluation and monitoring promotion and advertising to determine success
5.6 Coordinate product performance analysis and monitoring
6. Maintain effective internal communications
6.1 Ensure consumer insights are captured at all times and the company’s product offering is configured to meet customer expectations
6.2 Develops the necessary plan/s to ensure that the team meets its agreed goals and objectives, meets direct reports on a weekly basis, identifies and agrees key result areas, key objectives/tasks and action plans.
6.3 Ensures that all staff are trained, developed to allow succession planning.
6.4 Develops the marketing functional budget and monitors its expenditure.
6.5 Uses research, insight and business information to generate initiatives and proposals that will elevate customers’ experience.
6.6 Working with the head of HR, provides leadership and direction in the development of the team’s compensation structure, ensuring consistency, fairness throughout to realise a highly motivated sales.
7. Reporting
7.1 Ensure timeous weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
B. Education
• Degree in Marketing, Sales or equivalent
• A Master Degree would be an added advantage
• Professional training/certification in sales, marketing (e.g CSMP, CIM)
C. Experience
• At Least 8 years’ experience in a similar or related environment, 3 years should be in Senior Management position
D. Skills
• Must have a robust and direct management style and a natural leader
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be a team builder, team leader and team player, a logical and pragmatic problem solver with excellent negotiation skills.
