Work Hours : Full-time ; 40 hours/week
BASIC FUNCTIONS
The Project Management Specialist (Supply Chain & Laboratory) is a key senior technical member of the USAID/Burundi health team and a cross-cutting technical advisor to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and Population and Reproductive Health (PRH) program in the areas of supply chain and laboratory systems. Working in close coordination within the U.S. government inter-agency, implementing partners, and technical experts for other program areas, the incumbent will provide strategic, technical, resource, and administrative leadership for the management and coordination of the supply chain and laboratory systems strengthening projects related to PEPFAR, PMI, and PRH activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree (or host country equivalent) in pharmacy, supply chain/logistics management, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of five years of experience in supply chain management, including monitoring and evaluation, continuous quality improvement approaches, capacity building for logistics staff, and use of electronic tools and software for health commodity management.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:Direct experience in supply chain management including transport, distribution, warehouse, and stock management ; The incumbent is required to understand and apply USG policies and procedures that govern project activity management, in addition to relevant Department of State administrative operating procedures, policies and formats. The incumbent must be proactive in keeping up-to-date on GOB technical strategies and protocols in addition to international standards and guidelines related to HIV/AIDS issues and supply chain management.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Strong quantitative skills using computer software (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point) for data analysis and reporting. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
